Ins and Outs of Scanning!

[ Hardware ] | [ Software ] | [ Resources ]

This list of Web sites, part of the presentation at the June 1999 Monthly Meeting, should further your enjoyment of the World Wide Web and Web browsing in general. Other links of interest can be found on our Net Highlights page.

These are by no means comprehensive, so if you find some sites that you think might belong in this list, by all means send me an email at dono@northshorecomputer.org. Also, if you find a link that's "broken", please drop our webmaster a note.

Epson Scanners
Epson America is another scanner manufacturer with a complete line of products.
Hewlett Packard ScanJets

Online Scanning Resources

PeachPit Press
PeachPit Press has a number of books on scanning and desktop publishing in general. Not to be missed are their Non Designer's series of books by Robin Williams, a legend in the field of desktop publishing. Robin's home page, Url's Internet Cafe, is a bit strange, more appropriate to our Lighter Side page than here.
Scanning TipZone
ZDNet's TipZone for Scanning provides dozens of tips and FAQs. Loads of great information here.
Scanner Help
Scanner Help - Basics 101 is one of this month's Web Sites of the Month. Relatively non commercial, there is something for everyone here.
ScanHelp.Com
ScanHelp.Com, while definitely in business to sell you software, also has a number of excellent articles discussing the fine points of scanning. Good enough to make you want to buy software from them.
The Scanning FAQ
The Scanning FAQ is a bit out of date now, but some things about scanning never change. Check out the How To's, FAQs and Advanced Topics here.
Scanning Resources
Haywood and Sullivan is no longer updating their Scanning Resources page, but the information there is extensive and comprehensive.
